A So Really, Really “Hungrin'” Tummy
14August 6, 2012 by CassieCravings
“Oh, Mama!,” Eli practically fell into my lap. He wriggled and flailed about. His hand fell across his forehead.
I raised an eyebrow.
“Mama, I’s so *hungrin’! I just so really, really hungrin’! Listen. Listen to your ears!” He clicked his tongue again his teeth.
“‘Dat’s my tummy. It’s ‘da hungrin’ scary monster! Rawr!!!!”
I couldn’t help but giggle. He sighed in exasperation. How silly of his mama to laugh at such a serious matter.
I asked what his hungry tummy wanted to eat.
“Well, my Mama, I wantsth orange juice. It’s orange, stickies and *gi-gish-ous! Hungrin tummy, you wansth orange juice? Yesth? Oh, okay. Say puhwease! Mama, we say puhwease to ‘da orange juice.”
After such a performance, how could I deny a “so really. really hungrin'” tummy his orange juice.
*hungrin’: hungry *gi-gish-ous: delicious

Mama, you’re Eli simply makes me smile. Thank you for sharing this lovely post.
Thank you so much! He is so much fun! He certainly keeps me on my toes. š
So stinkin’ cute!
Thank you! He is definitely full of personality š
I am so impressed that he knows what he wants, what a cutie!
Thank you! He is very vocal about what he wants. I am really thankful that he’s not picky on top of it. š
Haha adorable. Love the spelling of his words… I can picture him saying it!
Thank you! š I love how he pronounces things. He really spices up the conversation š
Eli, you are making me hungrin. I’m getting a snack…
Ooohh! I hope it’s a gi-gish-ous snack! š
It was Ben & Jerry’s… this is why Alice never wants to go to bed…
That is the most gi-gish-ous snack in the history of ever. Alice is too perceptive. She knows y’all bust out the good stuff after her bed time. š
True. Tonight I gave it to her before her shower. I was feeling a wee guilty…
Lol! Eli woke up this morning asking for a “snack of spsghestti.” I made him say if a few time before I finally told him that I wasn’t making pasta for breakfast. Cruel, perhaps. But I’ve got to accurately write down these pronunciations. Also, it was really cute.
