A List of Thanks
22November 26, 2012 by CassieCravings
Even though Thanksgiving has passed, I wanted to take a moment and share a few things in which I am thankful.
With a new home, a loving husband, the cutest toddler around, supportive family and friends, I am one blessed mama!
Here is a list of 3 things that make me especially thankful:
1. “I loves you berry guch.”
There is nothing quite as heart-melting as my little boy cradling my face in his tiny hands and saying with the most serious of 2 year-old voicies, “I loves you berry guch.”
2. 5 AM wake up calls
While I have a love/hate relationship with my alarm clock, I am thankful for those quiet early morning dates with my elliptical and then with my Bible and a big, cold glass of water. Before the household stirs, before the check lists are made and the day becomes a whirlwind, it is a moment where I can wake up my mind, my body and my soul. It’s a moment to pause and to appreciate what I had yesterday and what I am blessed with today.
3. Plans that aren’t mine
I’ve always been a planner. Even as a child, I marveled over checking off a to-do list and making my master plan. It seems as if the more I plan, the more lessons I learn in letting go.
Eli is a wonderful example of learning to be patient and throwing out Β my plan. I prayed, counted calendars and was disappointed month after month for over a year while trying to get pregnant with our son. I was so frustrated when my doctor told me it was a “time” thing. This time thing and these plans were not lining up. So, I learned to wait patiently. I learned to pray diligently. I learned to toss out my plans. But through the waiting, praying and tossing I learned to be a better mother.
I hope that each one of you had a beautifully blessed Thanksgiving!

Thank you! I know it’s easy to forget the simple things and the things that I normally curse (such as 5 AM ;)), but it’s important to remember that these things help to make our life what it is as well π
